Thank you all! Just over two month ago, we successfully celebrated the 31st AEIMS Congress at the prestigious École Estienne in Paris (October 9th and 10th, 2025). Under the central theme: "Scientific Illustration: Learning and Sharing, at the dawn of an AI revolution," the congress provided an essential and memorable platform for the international scientific illustration community.

We are immensely grateful for the enthusiastic participation of 100 participants. We are fortunate to have representatives from Korea, Honduras, Hungary, Turkey, the Netherlands, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Spain. We hosted international-level speakers and had representation from 11 countries, underscoring the global vitality of our discipline. This congress was established as a crucial space to address our professional future, especially in the face of the imminent impact of Artificial Intelligence, viewed as both a "threat or a windfall."
The program was packed with unique experiences that merged art, science, and history:
We have talks with Didier Geffard-kuriyama, Dominique Hasboun, H-Alix, Stéphani Baril, Rogier Trompert, Alexandre Paluos, Efrat Davidson, Thomas Waroquier, Julien Bobroff, Jean-Paul Krivine and Pascale Pollier.

European Exhibition: The recently renovated lobby of École Estienne hosted a unique exhibition, offering congress attendees the opportunity to showcase their work and contribute to the visibility of scientific illustration at the European level.
Unforgettable VIP Visits: Participants enjoyed private and guided tours of genuine cultural and scientific gems in Paris:
1. Ecole Estienne prestigious historical library - part of the Parisʼ Heritage Library Network - with beautiful ana- tomy and science books.
2. BSIP, a scientific image bank. For 35 years, BSIP has told the story of lifeʼs adventure through fabulous images of the human body, the human dimension of rela- tionships between healthcare professionals and patients, and the invaluable resources of medical research.
3. Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle (MNHN): A special tour of the collections of scientific drawings, including a presentation of the invaluable collection of vélins (vellums).
4. Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF): A "So private" visit to the Science and Technology department, featuring a presentation of heritage works from the zoology, anatomy, and botany collections.

Original Drawn Concert — "Les Métamorphoses Nocturnes": One of the most unforgettable artistic moments was the "Concert Dessiné" (Drawn Concert), a unique performance held on the evening of October 9th. Titled "The Nocturnal Metamorphoses," it involved students from the DSAA ISM and DNmade Numérique programs at École Estienne. Held at the Jean-Martin Charcot Amphitheater of the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, this original idea by Prof. Fleur Cohen-Aubart, directed by Patrick Pleutin and Olivier Moulin, was a true highlight that fused science and expressive art. You can relive this superb moment in the captured video available here: https://pleutin.fr/html_251009_Salpetriere/251009_Salpetriere_1.html

Magical Gala: The evenings were filled with camaraderie, culminating in a magical gala that served to strengthen bonds and celebrate our shared passion.
The AEIMS Board is already working on the next congress and on new initiatives that arose from the discussions in Paris. We invite you to stay tuned for our next newsletter for more updates.
