AEIMS Leadership

AEIMS is supported by a President who is elected every three years and a Bureau consisting of at least seven officers. The current President and Council Members are listed further below. Within most countries is a Vice President who co-ordinates the members of that particular country. There is one Council Meeting each year which often takes place just prior to the Annual General Meeting and Conference.

Chair/President shall convene regularly scheduled Board meetings, shall preside or arrange for other members of the executive committee to preside at each meeting in the following order: Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation. Subject to the control of the Board, the President shall h ave general supervision of the business of the Corporation and shall carry out all policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors.

Treasurer

The Treasurer shall: Create finance report for annual Board meeting. Chair the Finance committee Assist in the preparation of the conference budget Help develop fundraising plans Make financial information available to Board members and the members as required. The Treasurer will disburse funds in accordance with the directions of the Board of Directors.

Membership Secretary

Membership Secretary shall be responsible for keeping records of Board actions, including overseeing the taking of minutes at all board meetings, sending out meeting announcements, distributing copies of minutes and the agenda to each Board member, and assuring that corporate records are maintained.

About Aeims

In 1986 The Association Européenne des Illustrateurs Médicaux et Scientifiques (AEIMS) was founded in Strasbourg. Its aims were to bring together artists, illustrators and sculptors working in medical education and the life sciences.
AEIMS meets somewhere in Europe each year, usually linking the conference with one of the European training institutes. The meeting is always great fun and increasingly worthwhile as the years pass.

All members are professional experience with proof of publication as demonstrated by their portfolio.
Active members generally includes those who make much of their living by freelancing or by employment. All members are required to be sponsored by two members or by the Membership Committee.
Active Members receive all the benefits available to AEIMS members, are eligible to vote and may hold office in the association.
